Theater

Theater department

The theater department is perhaps the most special department at our school. Because theater is one big common cause that requires different skills and abilities. For example, scenery and props are created by artists. Dances for the performance are created by choreographers, and music is composed by composers. At our wonderful department, we learn the basics of such important theater sciences as acting, stage speech, vocals, choreography, stage movement, and art history.

In acting classes, we learn how to interact with others. We become more confident in ourselves, in our ideas and actions. This is a whole science with the help of which we create characters, new images and characters.

Also, one of the main subjects is stage speech. It is so important to convey thoughts and emotions to the audience correctly and clearly. Of course, the word helps us with this. Our teachers often say that when you can’t hear the speaker on stage in the last row, the performance can be considered a failure. But a good and high-quality performance is one of the main goals of our training! That is why we pay so much attention to stage language. We work hard on poetry or prose, and then take part in various reading competitions. This is a real joy for us!

Choreography and stage movement are also very important for the acting profession. These disciplines help us learn how to control our bodies and always be in great physical shape.

In the stage movement class, we learn to juggle, walk on stilts, spin poi, do somersaults, flips, wheels, acrobatic supports, stand on our heads and hands. In general, we become a bit of circus acrobats. And this shapes our body, develops our coordination, agility, mobility and stability.

The fourth very important subject is vocals. We learn to sing solo and in an ensemble. And sometimes we perform at concerts and take part in vocal competitions on a par with musicians!

World artistic culture and theater history is as important a discipline as any other. We learn about the brightest artists and get acquainted with the development of world culture. This shapes our taste and teaches us to understand art.

Our teachers are real actors, directors, choreographers and vocalists. We learn their skills at school and in city theaters when we attend their performances.

Theater is a whole world where acting teaches the viewer to sympathize and empathize. At the same time, the soul is purified and brightened. We learn to speak on stage sincerely, honestly, and naturally. Our task is to give this world to the audience and inspire them to do good deeds! Not all of us will become actors. But the skills and abilities we acquire at the theater department will help us in our adult life.
